Best Indian Street Food!

I was introduced to Honest, Pure Vegetarian Indian Restaurant from my co-worker last year. The restaurant started as a family-run street-cart in 1975 in India based out of Ahmedabad and due to the popular demand over the years they now have locations throughout Canada and the US.

We were comparing notes on the best places to eat Indian food and she raved about Honest, which is located in McKinney north of 121. She is vegetarian and mentioned this restaurant was 100% vegetarian. I was intrigued. I shared with her my obsession with Spice Creations, she had never heard of it but was excited to give it a try.

Months flew by and I had completely forgotten about our conversation until my friend Priti mentioned wanting to take her cousins visiting from out of town to Honest for dinner. Her family drove up from San Antonio and had heard how incredible this place was and wanted to check it out. Sure enough it was a huge hit with the entire family.

Next thing I know Priti and I are planning a night for take-out. Since I havenโ€™t a clue what anything is on the menu, I let her decide on what we should order.

Vada Pav (deep fried potato dumpling placed inside a bread bun sliced almost in half through the middle)
Pani Puri (round or ball-shaped, hollow puri, filled with a mixture of flavored water, tamarind chutney, chili, chaat masala, potato, onion or chickpeas)
Bhaji Pav (thick vegetable curry served with a soft bread roll)
Pistachio and Mango Kulfi (Indian ice cream)

Priti walked us through what each item was and shared stories about a recent trip to India where she would devour the Pani Puri on the streets. One of her favorite meals.

I couldnโ€™t believe the flavor of the food. Honest is a Franchise that has several locations in Texas and beyond. If you are craving something a little different, I highly recommend!
