Inspired by an upcoming trip to Italy, I felt a deep desire to experience Osteria Muro after a friend highly recommended it. As I soon found out, getting a reservation here is no easy feat. The restaurant is open for dinner only, and all seats disappear almost instantly once reservations open up.
After weeks of keeping a close eye on the reservation system, luck finally struckโI managed to grab a last-minute cancellation!
That evening, Anna and I braved the 5 p.m. traffic to Denton, and let me tell you, it was worth every second. Housed in a charming converted home, the restaurant boasts an intimate setting with just about nine tables. The dรฉcor is simple, but the subtle nods to Italian culture make the atmosphere feel truly special. I especially loved the pasta-making station tucked away in the cornerโno space left unused.
Ben, who has been with Osteria Muro since they opened three years ago, greeted us warmly and immediately impressed with his in-depth knowledge of the menu.
We started our meal with their famed focaccia bread and homemade butter. Itโs no exaggeration when I say this bread was unlike anything Iโve ever tastedโfive generously sized pieces paired with rich, creamy butter. Simply divine.
For our main courses, we shared the stuffed ricotta and orange honey zucchini blossoms, spinach and ricotta ravioli, and the tagliatelle alla Bolognese. Each dish was a masterpiece. And dessert? The BEST cannoli I have ever hadโhands down.
I was tempted to snap photos of everyoneโs dishes because they all looked and smelled incredible. This dining experience was truly one to remember, and I canโt wait to return.
