Girls Weekend in Oregon Wine Country

It has become a tradition to getaway for a long weekend and enjoy time with girlfriends. In the fall of 2018 we decided to explore Oregon wine country in Dundee, OR (Willamette Valley). The weather could not have been more perfect, the wine was flowing and the food was incredible.

Below is a list of wineries we visited. The biggest tip I can share when visiting the wineries in the NW is ask about the Alaska Airlines discount. Not every winery may honor the promotion, however of the 11 wineries we visited all of them honored a free tasting.

We LOVED this B&B, it’s nestled on a couple acres of rolling hills and the views are incredible. Every morning the owners served delicious coffee and a home made meal from scratch. They were so helpful to review our list of wineries and provide input. We all agree we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Good Eats in Wine Country

We enjoyed Red Hills Marketย every day for lunch. I can’t say enough good things about this place. There is something here for everyone. It’s a must when visiting Dundee. We enjoyed dinner our first night at Dundee Bistroย on the outside patio and it was truly perfect. We highly recommend. Babica Hen Cafe had great reviews online so we thought we should give it a try for our second dinner. We were glad we did. The Chicken and Dumplings were off the chain! Our final meal was in McMinnville at McMenamins Pub. Always a favorite!

  • I called ahead of time to each winery to for tasting room hours and if reservations were necessary (which some locations suggest especially over the weekend).

We really had to pinch ourselves the entire time we were there because the weather was perfect. One of my most memorable moments started at the very beginning of the trip. We decided Thursday after breakfast to visit Adelsheim first. We pulled into the parking lot and couldn’t believe the yellow rolling hills of vines that surrounded the tasting room.

As we arrived a couple with two dogs also were heading inside. All four of us immediately introduced ourselves to them and decided to shower their dogs with some Texas hospitality. We must have spent at least 15 minutes visiting before walking in and before I knew it she handed me her card and said, “we have a house in Napa we rent out to friends and family and we would love to have you”. Completely blown away and blessed by her generosity.ย

At every turn over the course of the 3 days we met the most amazing people at every location, I even met a beagle visiting from Austin, TX! Texans were taking over the state of Oregon. Our timing could not have been more perfect, so many photo opportunities to capture the changing of the colors.ย
