I can remember the first time I was introduced to Indian food. It was 2009 in Dallas and a co-worker took several of us to a buffet for lunch. As I walked the buffet line, I was overwhelmed and intimidated at the thought of not knowing what any of the food items were. I grabbed what looked safe and made my way to the table. While I wasnโt overly impressed, I left thinking Indian food was just ok, Thai was still number one in my books.
Fast forward to 2017 and my dear friend Prit, who by the way is one of the worldโs greatest undercover cooks, talked about introducing our group to Spice Creations Fine Indian Food in Allen, TX.
She first discovered this restaurant in 2015 while planning to meet friends for dinner. They were looking for a place to meet in the middle and this hidden gem popped up on Yelp with great reviews. So they decided to give it a try.
They met for dinner and quickly realized they werenโt that busy however the phone wouldnโt stop ringing. The carry out business is non-stop. The overall consensus was this was the best Indian food they had ever had.
I have been twice, and I am completely in awe of how amazing the food tastes. While I still have no idea what to order I know no matter what I choose itโs going to be incredible and there will be leftovers.
What we ate
- Garlic and Herb Naan
- Chicken Tikka Masala (Pureed (blanched) tomato, hint of cream and butter and our special herbs and spice blend)
- Nilgiri Lamb (Cilantro, fresh fenugreek, garlic, mace and star anise)
- Saag Curry (Spinach, kale and roasted poblano sauce tampered with garlic, cumin and mild spices)
- Lamb Rogan Josh (Onion, tomato, kashmiri chili and caraway seeds)
Iโm looking forward to my next visit. If you go be sure to tag @everydangdish and let me know what you ordered!
