The Rice Bar, Korean food you will love

We love Asian food and are always on the hunt for new places near the house. About a year ago I discovered The Rice Bar in The Colony (near Paige and South Colony Blvd). I was visiting a place nearby and decided to drop in and get lunch to go. I quickly realized this was a Korean restaurant and was very impressed with the ambiance, menu and the very kind owner. She took good care of me.

I brought lunch home and not only were we completely impressed with the flavor we had enough food left over for another meal. So the value is on point.

We have been there a few times since then and every time the owner and staff are super friendly. They pride themselves on using the freshest ingredients and make everything from scratch each morning.

Menu items we have tried so farโ€ฆ

  • The pork fried rice is easily a shared dish. I couldnโ€™t believe how big the pieces of pork were and how perfect this dish tasted. This dish alone is why you will come back.
  • Katsu Chicken is pieces of chicken covered in a breaded layer and drizzled with sauce. This is Johnโ€™s favorite so far.
  • Spicy pork bowl, I asked for a mild version and it was good. I probably favor the pork fried rice.

Itโ€™s Valentines day and we decided The Rice Bar was the meal we would share to celebrate. Best part is left overs.

If you are near The Colony and looking for a Korean restaurant that is consistent, friendly and tastes amazing I recommend.
