Orange Glazed Biscuits, a sweet treat for breakfast

I pinned this recipe a while ago and when I revisited the steps I was sold when I saw orange icing was involved. I have what I would consider a couple unique staple breakfast recipes up my sleeve, my sausage cream cheese biscuits are one of them and I am always looking for new and different breakfast ideas to serve when we have company.

First Impression

I will never forget my first bite of these biscuits right out of the oven, with the orange glaze of course. They literally melt in your mouth. John took about a half dozen of these to work and shared with his team, they devoured them.

Recipe:

BISCUITS
  • 1 16 oz Pillsbury biscuits
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoons orange zest
GLAZE
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 375ยฐ
  2. Cut each biscuit in half and roll into a long rope
  3. Tie into a knot and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  4. Brush tops of biscuits with butter, dip into sugar and sprinkle the orange zest on top
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes (without burning the sugar)
